Brian S. Harris
BiographyBrian Harris assists a wide variety of clients with complex real estate matters, primarily with the acquisition, disposition, and leasing of all types of real estate. He handles matters both large and small, from multi-million dollar property transactions to sales of parcels of land.
Mr. Harris has represented clients in Texas and throughout the United States in the acquisition and disposition of commercial office, retail, raw land, industrial and mixed use properties, in the acquisition of ground lease interests and property portfolios, and in the sale of partnership interests. He has also represented both landlords and tenants in Texas and throughout the U.S. in the leasing of a wide range of properties, including commercial office, retail, mixed use, ground leased, industrial, hotel and medical office.
In addition to his leasing, acquisition, and disposition experience, Mr. Harris regularly represents commercial property owners in a variety of operational matters, including matters relating to property management, leasing brokerage, disputes and construction.
Prior to going to law school, Mr. Harris attended graduate school in Psychology and spent six years working with children, including teaching Fifth Grade in the Houston Independent School District, where he was a member of Teach For America.
Mr. Harris was named a "Rising Star" (2007-2008, 2010) by Thomson Reuters, a distinction given to less than 2.5 percent of lawyers in the state of Texas. He was also named as one of H Texas magazine's "Top Lawyers" (2010) and "Houston Professionals on the Fast Track" (2007).

Mr. Harris authored the chapter “Bankruptcies and Subleased Properties: An Overview of the Issues" in the book The Sublease and Assignment Deskbook: Legal Issues, Forms, and Drafting Techniques for Commercial Lease Transfer, which was published by American Bar Association Publishing in 2013.
