Biography

Formerly a partner in Wood, Lucksinger & Epstein, Daniel J. Hayes has practiced health law since 1981. Mr. Hayes' areas of expertise include financings for health care providers (he has been involved in over $4 billion of financing for health care providers); day-to-day representation of health care providers including hospital systems, free-standing facilities, physician clinics, nursing homes and assisted-care facilities; tax planning in such areas as hospital/physician arrangements, corporate system reorganization, and procurement and maintenance of tax-exempt status for not-for-profit entities; managed care issues for physician-hospital organizations, preferred provider organizations, and independent practice associations; and contractual matters involving health maintenance organizations, management service organizations, and other managed care facilities.

Organization Membership

Mr. Hayes is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, the National Association of Bond Lawyers, the American Health Lawyers Association, and the Houston Bar Association.

Community Involvement

He is a former member of the Bellaire City Council and was also a member of the Planning & Zoning Committee of the City of Bellaire.
