Biography
Kevin Page focuses his practice on commodity marketing and trading activities in wholesale and retail energy markets. To that end, he regularly assists clients in the wholesale purchase and sale of energy-related commodities, such as natural gas, electric power, coal, crude and emissions, and has significant experience analyzing and negotiating standardized master agreements commonly used in the energy industry, including the ISDA, NAESB and EEI. He represents commodity suppliers and retail marketers in trading natural gas and electricity under structured financing arrangements, and also assists retail providers with form development and regulatory compliance issues.
To mitigate risks inherent in trading contracts, Mr. Page routinely advises clients on credit structures used to support obligations under such contracts, including guaranties, credit facilities, asset-based first lien structures, bond financing and margining arrangements.
Apart from his experience navigating wholesale and retail energy markets, Mr. Page specializes in financial derivative transactions that impact energy, banking and financial services clients. He is familiar with credit arrangements and security documents often tied to derivative transactions, and regularly advises lenders, borrowers and financial services companies on how to mitigate credit and commercial risks via swaps, options and other forms of derivatives. He prepares form agreements to facilitate derivative transactions for a number of energy and banking clients, and regularly conducts in-house training sessions analyzing the use of derivatives in the marketplace.
