Biography

Leonard W. Woods has broad experience in all aspects of commercial litigation and the construction industry. He has represented and advised developers, architects, engineers, contractors, trades, and vendors. He is well versed on the unique first- and third-party insurance coverage issues raised in commercial matters and the construction industry.

Mr. Woods is AV rated and Board Certified in Consumer and Commercial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Organization Membership

Mr. Woods is a member of the State Bar of Texas (Consumer Law Section, Insurance and Construction Law Section), a Barrister of the American Inns of Court, and a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. He is a member of the National Bar Association, the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, the Austin Bar Association (Construction Law Section), the National Bar Association, and DRI — The Voice of the Defense Bar.

Community Involvement

Mr. Woods serves as Chair on the Administrative Board and President of Inter-Generational Choir of Wesley United Methodist Church. He was a member of the East Austin Quality of Life. He is a member and former Chairman of the Travis County Fee Dispute Committee and serves on the following Boards: CIS (Communities in Schools) and I Live Here, I Give Here.

Peer Recognition

Mr. Woods was named a "Super Lawyer" in Construction Litigation by Thomson Reuters and Law & Politics Magazine (2006-2008). He was awarded the Texas Chapter International Association of Arson Investigation - John R. Rauch Award (2005) and the Austin Independent School District African American Heritage Community Service Award (2006).
