Dudley McCalla focuses his practice primarily on administrative law. He is board certified in Administrative Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.


Mr. McCalla is a member of the State Bar of Texas, where he previously was a chairman of the Administrative Law Committee (1975-79) and a chairman in the Public Law Section (1979). He is also a member of the American Bar Association and a past member of the Administrative Conference of the United States.


Mr. McCalla was presented with the first ever Lifetime Achievement Award by the Administrative and Public Law Section of the State Bar of Texas (2014). Mr. McCalla recieved the Oustanding 50 Year Lawyer Award from the Texas Bar Foundation (2016), which recognizes an attorney whose practice has spanned 50 years or more, and who adheres to the highest principles and traditions of the legal profession and service to the public. Mr. McCalla was named "Lawyer of the Year" for 2013 by Best Lawyers in America in the category of Administrative / Regulatory Law (Austin) and "Lawyer of the Year" for 2016 in the category of Insurance Law (Austin). He is listed in the 2007-2016 editions of The Best Lawyers in America under Administrative/Regulatory Law and Insurance Law. He was named a "Super Lawyer" by Thomson Reuters (2003-2004). In 2002, he was named the "Go-To Lawyer in Administrative Law" by Texas Lawyer. Mr. McCalla also received the Distinguished Lawyer Award in 1992 from the Travis County Bar Association and Austin Young Lawyers Association.
