Biography

Susan Halsey is a partner with over 25 years of experience in the Real Estate section of Jackson Walker in Fort Worth. She is the current chair of the firm's Real Estate practice group, which includes approximately 40 lawyers located in six offices, and she is the managing partner of the firm's Fort Worth office. Her practice consists of representing entities, individuals, and financial institutions in various real estate transactions and financial matters including the acquisition, development, and sale of commercial, industrial, and residential real estate; structuring and negotiating financial relationships on behalf of lenders and borrowers; drafting office building, industrial park, and shopping center leases on behalf of landlords and tenants; advising landlords with respect to property management issues; and drafting restrictive covenants and forming homeowners associations and condominium regimes for commercial and residential developments.

Ms. Halsey is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. She is also the Past Chairman of the Greater Fort Worth Real Estate Council, Past President of Greater Fort Worth Commercial Real Estate Women, Inc., and actively participates in the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce as Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of Directors, Co-Chair of the Transportation Committee and member of the Women Influencing Business Committee. Ms. Halsey is a member of the Texas Bar Association, the Tarrant County Bar Association, and the Louisiana Bar Association.

Peer Recognition

Ms. Halsey is included in the 2012 edition of Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business under Real Estate. In 2012, the Greater Fort Worth Real Estate Council honored Ms. Halsey with its Founder's Award. Ms. Halsey was named a "Super Lawyer" by Thomson Reuters (2003-2004, 2009-2012). She has been consistently named a Tarrant County "Top Attorney" by Fort Worth, Texas magazine since 2002, most recently in the November 2012 issue. She was also named a "2009 Power Attorney" by the Fort Worth Business Press in October 2009. In addition to legal recognition, she is a past recipient of the YWCA "Tribute to Women in Business Award" in Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Business Press's "Great Women of Texas" Award.
