Kelly Cavazos Barreto

Biography

Kelly Cavazos Barreto has a wide-ranging practice, assisting clients in health care, bankruptcy, and litigation matters. In her health care practice, Ms. Barreto has assisted in advising clients on employment, charity care, corporate formation, and various regulatory issues, including issues relating to the Stark, Anti-Kickback, and HIPAA laws. In bankruptcy matters, Ms. Barreto has represented trustees and secured and unsecured creditors, including financial institutions and retail energy providers, in bankruptcy cases and related adversaries. In litigation, Ms. Barreto has represented clients in the resolution of disputes primarily involving breach of contract and collections issues.

While in law school, Ms. Barreto served as a judicial intern at the Texas Supreme Court for Justice Phil Johnson.
