Lionel Schooler Speaks on Ethical Workplace Investigations

Jackson Walker partner Lionel Schooler spoke at the monthly meeting of the Houston Bar Association's Labor and Employment Section on July 11, 2011.

Mr. Schooler participated with Prof. Robert Schuwerk of the University of Houston Law Center in a panel discussion on the subject "Conducting Ethical Workplace Investigations." Mr. Schooler focused upon practical and ethical problems confronting both inside and outside counsel in participating in and/or overseeing workplace investigations of employment disputes or claims. The panel was moderated by Jackson Walker partner Elaine Howard. Ms. Howard and Mr. Schooler both serve on the Section's Council.

Mr. Schooler has practiced employment law since 1976 and is a frequent speaker on employment law, business litigation and arbitration topics. He is most recently the author of "Arbitration 2010: Developments in the Law."

In addition to service on the Section's Council, Ms. Howard has previously served as Co-Chair of the Professionalism Committee of the HBA and has frequently spoken on ethics and professionalism.
