Patricia Tomasco Speaks on Mass Preference Actions
 | Jackson Walker partner Patricia Tomasco will speak at the 30th Annual Jay L. Westbrook Bankruptcy Conference. The event is in Austin, Texas, on November 17-18, 2011.
Ms. Tomasco will speak on "Mass Preference Actions: Pros, Cons and Strategies," a discussion of the practice and procedures, including far-reaching procedures orders and court-ordered mediation governing mass preference actions, brought by Chapter 11 debtors or liquidating trusts, and how defendants can increase settlement leverage through fee shifting, dispositive motions and counterclaims. Ms. Tomasco's practice consists of corporate reorganization and fiduciary litigation, where she focuses on workouts, reorganizations, distressed acquisitions, and debtor and creditor representation in Chapter 11 cases as well as litigation related to fiduciary roles in both corporate and securitization entities. Ms. Tomasco also has experience in telecommunications-related reorganizations and litigation. She is Board Certified in Business Bankruptcy Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
