Ben Rhem Speaks at Oil and Gas Pipeline Capacity Seminar

Jackson Walker attorney Ben Rhem spoke at the Obtaining and Expanding Pipeline Capacity in the Shale Oil and Gas Revolution seminar on January 16, 2013.

The event was cosponsored by Jackson Walker and Ballard Spahr, and was held at Jackson Walker's Houston office. Topics covered included shipping crude oil and products in a capacity–constrained system, repurposing and reversing gas pipelines, and eminent domain uncertainty in Texas. Mr. Rhem spoke about a recent Texas Supreme Court decision regarding eminent domain and the possible effects of this decision on oil and gas pipelines. The seminar was also available via webinar. Mr. Rhem is an associate in the environmental & legislative practice group at Jackson Walker. Mr. Rhem advises clients in the energy development, oil and gas, mining, waste and agriculture industries regarding compliance with federal and state environmental laws and regulations. He has extensive experience conducting environmental due diligence for energy transactions, including several natural gas fired power plants and wind energy projects. He also helps clients secure federal and state permits, conduct environmental compliance audits, and participate in the development of state environmental policies. Mr. Rhem also assists oil and gas clients in securing permits necessary for exploration, production, and transportation operations. Mr. Rhem received his B.A. from the University of Richmond and his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.
