Mike Nasi Speaks at the Clean Technology Conference and Expo 2009
Jackson Walker partner Mike Nasi spoke at the Clean Technology Conference and Expo 2009. The Conference and Expo was May 3-7 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Nasi was the session chair for "Clean Coal: State of the Industry Panel" on May 4. He spoke specifically on responsible energy planning for the century as well as clean coal incentives and policy updates. Mr. Nasi also spoke later in the day at a "Clean Coal: Technology & Company Showcase." He presented information on protecting the globe and the economy through carbon capture and storage. Mr. Nasi also spoke on May 5 at the "Bio Energy: Novel Technologies & Projects" session. He was the session chair and opened the discussion with a state and federal policy update. Mr. Nasi's environmental law practice primarily focuses on regulatory permitting in the air, water, injection well, mine reclamation, and waste programs for facilities in the renewable energy, electric power generation, mining, steel manufacturing, and brownfield redevelopment industries. As part of the Energy Practice Group, he is involved in major energy developments ranging from renewable electric power and fuels to coal-based, gas-fired, and nuclear power projects. He practices before the Environmental Protection Agency, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the Texas Railroad Commission, and the Texas Legislature. Mr. Nasi attended the University of New Mexico and earned his B.A. degree from The University of Texas at Austin. He attended The University of Texas School of Law and earned his J.D. degree from the University of Houston Law Center.
