Jackson Walker Teams Complete Relay Marathon for Charity

Several Jackson Walker attorneys and staff members participated in the 2009 Silicon Labs Marathon Relay, a team marathon event that benefits non-profit organization Junior Achievement. The fifth annual race was held September 27 at Auditorium Shores in Austin, Texas.

More than 500 teams entered the race, which is split into five legs of varying distance for beginning, intermediate and advanced runners. The team winning first place set a Guinness World Record for the fastest ever five-person marathon relay. Jackson Walker's two relay teams finished in 93rd place, with a time of 3:28:26, and in 369th place, with a time of 4:23:45. Runners on the two JW teams, and their respective distances, were:

Proceeds from the Silicon Labs Marathon Relay are donated to Junior Achievement, an organization focused on youth education that presents financial, literacy, entrepreneurship and work preparedness programs to over 12,000 Central Texas students. JW partner Chuck Campbell, who is a Junior Achievement board member and sits on the organization's executive committee, helped organized the race and JW's participating teams.
