Jackson Walker attorneys from the Labor and Employment section spoke to employees at Chubb Group of Insurance Companies on January 28, 2011, in Dallas, Texas.

The discussion topic was the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). In the PowerPoint presentation accompanying their speech, several Labor Law attorneys at Jackson Walker contributed information on FLSA statistics; most notably, that a staggering 80 percent of all employers are not compliant with the Act, according to the Department of Labor.

The discussion focused on some of these missed areas of the FLSA, including what constitutes as covered and exempt employees, common issues with the FLSA, enforcement and collective actions of the Act, and other topical issues.
