Jackson Walker Elects 14 New Partners

DALLAS — Jackson Walker L.L.P. announces the election of 14 attorneys to the firm's partnership.

From the Austin office Ali Abazari, Lenora DuBose, Jeffery R. Johnson, Jennifer H. Rogers, Daniel Scardino, and Chad Smith were named partners. From the Dallas office Jeffrey P. Kitner, Lori J. Lamoreaux, David S. Stolle, and Lee A. White were promoted to partner. From the Houston office Wayne P. Bunch Jr., David S. Curcio, and Michael G. Locklar as well as Mark Comuzzie from the San Antonio office join the firm's partnership.

Ali AbazariAustin — is a partner in the Environmental & Legislative practice group. He represents clients in a wide variety of environmental matters, including waste, water and air permitting, compliance counseling and enforcement defense. Mr. Abazari earned his B.A. degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin. He received his J.D. degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law and his L.L.M. in Energy and Environmental Law from Tulane University School of Law.

Wayne BunchHouston — is partner in the Corporate & Securities practice group. He focuses his practice on license and franchise law, primarily representing start-up and emerging franchisors, in addition to prospective franchisees. Mr. Bunch received his B.S. degree from Louisiana State University, his J.D. degree from Louisiana State University – Paul M. Hebert Law Center, and his L.L.M. degree in Transnational Business Practices from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law.

Mark ComuzzieSan Antonio — is a partner in the Wealth Planning practice group. He focuses his practice on estate planning, probate, estate and trust administration, federal estate, gift and income tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service, as well as trust, estate and fiduciary litigation. Mr. Comuzzie earned his B.B.A. degree from Texas A&M University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Houston.

David CurcioHouston — is a partner in the Litigation practice group. He focuses his practice on defending financial institutions in consumer litigation, from individual statutory and common law claims to major class actions and governmental investigations. Mr. Curcio received his B.A. degree from Rice University. He attended law school at the University of Oregon and then the University of Texas, from which he received his J.D. degree in 1986.

Lenora DuBoseAustin — is a partner in the Real Estate practice group. She focuses her practice primarily on commercial real estate matters, including office, industrial, retail and wind-energy leasing, condominium development, residential subdivision development, real property acquisition and disposition and related transactional matters. Ms. DuBose received her B.B.A. degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. She received her J.D. degree from South Texas College of Law.

Jeff JohnsonAustin — is a partner in the Intellectual Property practice group. He has litigated copyright, trademark and patent matters in numerous federal and state courts around the country and before the United States Patent & Trademark Office. He also has considerable experience representing entertainment and media clients. Mr. Johnson received his B.A. degree from Brigham Young University and his J.D. degree from Columbia University.

Jeffrey KitnerDallas — is a partner in the Litigation practice group. He focuses his practice on commercial and business litigation, and he has represented plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of litigation matters in both state and federal courts. Mr. Kitner received his B.A. degree in Political Science and Sociology from Emory University and his J.D. degree from the University of Texas School of Law.

Lori LamoreauxDallas — is a partner in the Litigation practice group. She practices in the area of civil defense litigation and arbitration with an emphasis on ERISA and employee benefits, insurance defense and coverage disputes. Ms. Lamoreaux received her B.S. degree, with honors, from Michigan State University and her J.D. degree, with high honors, from the University of North Carolina.

Michael LocklarHouston — is a partner in the Intellectual Property practice group. He represents clients in a variety of fields, including oil & gas, software, computers and hardware, electronics and medical devices. He received his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University – West Lafayette and his M.B.A. from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. He received his J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Houston.

Jennifer RogersAustin — is a partner in the Real Estate practice group with an emphasis on the needs of health care clients. She focuses her practice on representation before state administrative agencies and licensing Boards. She earned her B.S. degree in Biology and M.S. degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Houston and her J.D. degree, cum laude, at the University of Houston. In 2008, Ms. Rogers was named a "Rising Star" by Texas Monthly magazine.

Daniel ScardinoAustin — is a partner in the firm's Intellectual Property practice group. He focuses his practice on representing technology, media and entertainment industry clients in a variety of intellectual property and corporate matters. Mr. Scardino has assisted in the acquisition, development, production, publication and distribution of interactive media and music, literary, film and television content. Mr. Scardino earned his B.A. degree from Emory University and his J.D. degree from Tulane Law School.

Chad SmithAustin — is a partner in the Real Estate practice group. He represents both sellers and purchasers of all types of real estate, including raw land, office complexes, industrial projects and retail centers. Mr. Smith is regularly involved in retail, office, warehouse and ground lease negotiations on behalf of both landlords and tenants. Mr. Smith received his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Texas.

David StolleDallas — is a partner in the Finance practice group who primarily represents lenders in commercial finance and real estate finance transactions. He has a particular expertise representing lenders in asset-based transactions involving borrowers in the technology and life sciences industries. Mr. Stolle received his B.A. from Texas A&M University and his M.A. degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. He earned his J.D. from St. Mary's University.

Lee WhiteDallas — is a partner in the Real Estate practice group. He primarily represents public and private companies, individual investors and developers in complex real estate matters, including work with office projects, condominium development, multi-family residential apartments, retail projects, industrial projects and raw land. Mr. White received his B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette and his J.D. degree from Louisiana State University.
