Jay Rutherford Appears on KVUE-Austin to Discuss Texas Lyceum Public Conference
 | Jackson Walker partner Jay Rutherford appeared on KVUE-Austin to provide information on the Texas Lyceum's Public Conference on April 3. Mr. Rutherford, president of the non-profit Texas Lyceum, explained the purpose of the conference, which was convened to bring elected officials and noted economists together with the public to explore opportunities provided by the federal stimulus package for the state of Texas. Mr. Rutherford is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. His practice consists primarily of representing management in labor, employment discrimination, wrongful termination, sexual harassment and civil rights litigation. His practice also consists of counseling clients in all matters affecting the employer-employee relationship and compliance with all state and federal employment laws and regulations including all discrimination and wrongful termination laws, the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and 1991, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and all other state and federal labor and employment statutes. He also advises clients on all aspects of personnel and employment policies and practices. Mr. Rutherford earned his B.S. degree, magna cum laude, in Agricultural Economics from Texas Tech University, and his J.D. degree from the University of Texas. |
