Jackson Walker won a victory for its client IPSCO Tubulars Inc. when the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the trial court’s decision in favor of IPSCO in a breach of contract case brought by Tejas Casing Ltd.

In the original case, which was tried before a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, the Jackson Walker trial team secured a judgment in favor of IPSCO, denying any recovery to Tejas on its multimillion-dollar claim and awarding thousands of dollars to IPSCO on its counterclaim. In an opinion issued on Feb. 12, 2014, the appeals court affirmed the district court’s decision based on evidence and arguments presented at trial.

In the appeal, IPSCO was represented by a Jackson Walker team including Lionel Schooler, Crystal Parker, Glen Boudreaux, Tim Leonard, and William Stowe. In the initial trial, IPSCO was represented by Jackson Walker attorneys Mr. Leonard and Mr. Boudreaux, with support from Mr. Nicholas and Mr. Schooler.

The victory highlights the strength of Jackson Walker’s Appellate practice and the Firm’s depth of experience in business litigation. With one of the largest trial teams in the Southwest, Jackson Walker was named “Litigation Department of the Year” in 2013 by Texas Lawyer.
