Jackson Walker partner Marisela M. Peña was quoted in the March 25, 2013, edition of Texas Lawyer on the topic of women and minorities in law firms.
In the article, “Wonder Women: New BigTex Partners on How They Chose Their Firms,” Marisela states that the opportunity to participate as a 1L in a Houston Bar Association Minority Opportunities in the Legal Profession program was the reason she applied for a summer internship with Jackson Walker.
“The idea of coming in, in the summer clerkship program like the 2Ls, and having exposure to being in the legal world – that was absolutely what drove me to apply with Jackson Walker,” Marisela said. “I have always felt there is a great diversity in the [firm’s] associate and summer associate ranks. I have seen diversity grow into the partnership ranks, which is really good to see.”
