Benchmark Litigation Names Retta Miller Among Top 250 Women in Litigation

August 10, 2017 | Attorney News

Retta Miller has been named to Benchmark Litigation’s Top 250 Women in Litigation 2017 list, which recognizes the leading female litigators in the United States. This honor reflects Retta’s outstanding accomplishments and prominence in the litigation arena.

The list is developed through peer interviews, client feedback surveys, and an independent review of each attorney’s recent casework by Benchmark Litigation staff. Once the list is finalized, honorees are profiled in an editorial on the publication’s website. Benchmark Litigation is a supplement to Benchmark, which covers litigation and dispute resolution in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Retta, who serves as chair of Jackson Walker’s litigation practice, has over 30 years of experience representing clients in civil litigation, arbitration, and appeals. Throughout her career, she has amassed a wealth of trial experience and secured countless favorable judgments on behalf of her clients. Though Retta has represented clients in a number of industries, she is particularly well-versed in financial institution and securities litigation.

She recently defended multiple financial institutions in claims arising from a participated loan in connection with a leveraged buyout. The plaintiffs sought $45 million in damages, claiming breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, tortious interference with business relationships, and business disparagement. After extended litigation, Plaintiffs dismissed the case without prejudice.

Retta’s success in handling such high-stakes matters has earned her this recognition among the “most distinguished women in the world of litigation.” For more information on this award, view the full list of Benchmark Litigation’s Top 250 Women in Litigation.
