January 13, 2015 | Attorney News

Jackson Walker partner Danielle Needham has obtained her board certification in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (TBLS).

Board certification is a voluntary designation program certifying Texas attorneys in 21 specific areas of law. Board-certified attorneys must be licensed for at least five years, devote a required percentage of practice to a specialty area for at least three years, attend continuing education seminars, pass an evaluation by fellow lawyers and judges, and pass a six-hour written examination.

Becoming certified is an ongoing involvement in a select area of law that is sustained with references from peers in that field. It requires annual professional refreshment through continuing legal education course work that is TBLS approved to stay on top of current trends in law.

Ms. Needham’s practice primarily consists of counseling clients and representing employers in a wide variety of state and federal labor and employment law matters. She has experience in advising employers and businesses on various employment issues, such as hiring and disciplining employees, compensation, employee benefit plans, insurance benefits disputes, management training, employment handbooks, employment contracts, independent contractor agreements, reductions in force, covenants not-to-compete and the protection of confidential and proprietary information. Ms. Needham received her B.A., magna cum laude, and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Texas Tech University.
