Jackson Walker Adds Darren Skyles to Healthcare Group

Darren Skyles is a member of our healthcare practice group. He provides daily legal guidance to healthcare executives, physicians, corporate compliance officers, information security officers and front-line staff in both hospital and physician practice settings. He advises on areas of concern for hospitals and physician practices, including corporate compliance matters, business transactions, medical staff issues, board governance, contracts, human resource issues, and policies and procedures. His practice includes counseling hospitals and physicians on business ventures to comply with state and federal healthcare regulations.  He has experience in the areas of the Stark Law, the Federal Antikickback Statute and HIPAA Privacy and Security.  Darren also provides representation and counseling in employment and governmental entity matters.

Darren joins a team of healthcare lawyers who use their knowledge of healthcare law to offer a broad range of experience. We take a multi-disciplinary approach to assisting our clients, utilizing each attorney’s knowledge and experience about the various regulatory constraints facing healthcare entities. Darren is among several high-profile attorneys who have made the move to Jackson Walker in the past few years, as the firm’s Texas-friendly culture and strong financial management have proven to be a strong draw for top-tier attorneys looking to both expand their practices and better serve existing clients.

Prior to joining Jackson Walker, Darren was a partner at McGinnis Lochridge. He earned his B.A. degree in English, magna cum laude, from the University of Houston in 1991 and his J.D. degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 2004. During law school, Darren served as the director of a cancer information service with a Texas Medical Center hospital in Houston. Additionally, Darren  is certified in Healthcare Compliance by the Healthcare Compliance Association.
