James Prappas and John Stephenson Speak at NOF Energy Event

Jackson Walker partners James Prappas and John Stephenson spoke at an NOF Energy and British-American Business Council Houston networking event on Tuesday, January 27, 2015.

Mr. Prappas and Mr. Stephenson delivered a talk titled, “Doing Business in Houston.” They provided helpful advice to assist companies seeking to establish or expand their business in Houston.

The British-American Business Council is a global partner with NOF Energy and offers monthly events.

Mr. Prappas has over 25 years’ experience representing Fortune 500, middle market and emerging companies in U.S. immigration matters and transactions. He has extensive experience in nonimmigrant visas including the international transfer of key personnel and treaty trader/treaty investors, employment based immigrant visas, family immigration, I-9 matters, naturalization and derivative citizenship. Prior to joining Jackson Walker, Mr. Prappas’ career included over 10 years in private practice where he represented domestic and international businesses concerning business, corporate and immigration law. Mr. Prappas received his A.B., with honors, from Davidson College and his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.

Mr. Stephenson has spent more than 35 years representing clients engaged in cross-border business and finance. With extensive expertise in both inbound and outbound transactions, he helps clients analyze, structure, and implement effective foreign investment strategies. Because of his depth of experience, Mr. Stephenson is culturally attuned to working with business clients around the world and is well-equipped to help them meet the challenges and opportunities afforded by today’s global marketplace. He received his B.A. from Rice University and his LL.B., cum laude, from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
