Jackson Walker partner Keith Branyon spoke at the Austin Bar Association’s Estate Planning and Probate Law Section CLE Seminar on March 21, 2014, in Austin, Texas.

Mr. Branyon’s presentation, “Standing: How Much is a Ticket to the Dance?” discussed the concept of “standing” in probate and guardianship actions and how the topic should be raised. He also gave specific examples of situations where the standing of a potential party has been challenged and how the courts have ruled on those challenges.

Mr. Branyon practices primarily in the areas of estate planning, probate, guardianship and tax, with particular emphasis on the taxation of individuals, estates and trusts and all types of transfer taxes (estate, gift and generation skipping taxes). He is also an experienced litigator in probate and guardianship cases, including will contests and guardianship disputes. Mr. Branyon received his B.B.A. in Accounting from Baylor University and his J.D. from Baylor University Law School.
