December 4, 2014 | Attorney News

Jackson Walker partner Lionel Schooler was named a 2014 Top Lawyer for Labor & Employment by Houstonia magazine. Houstonia’s annual Top Lawyers list is compiled based on Houston-area attorneys’ Avvo.com ratings, which factor in peer endorsements as well as experience, education, training, speaking, publishing, and awards.

Mr. Schooler focuses his efforts on comprehensively helping employers solve a wide variety of workplace issues as efficiently and satisfactorily as possible; where necessary, he has defended employers in formally addressing workplace issues, including protecting their trade secrets, confidential information, and non-compete covenants. He also has significant experience in business litigation (with an emphasis in federal practice). He has also served as an arbitrator in business, healthcare, construction, and employment disputes, as well as serving as a consultant to parties on the drafting of arbitration agreements, and defending or challenging arbitration awards. Mr. Schooler has twice received the annual President’s Award from the Houston Bar Association recognizing his service to the Bar. Mr. Schooler has also twice received from the Houston Bar Foundation the annual award for Outstanding Legal Article published in the Houston Lawyer. In 2012, Mr. Schooler received the Justice Frank Evans Award from the State Bar’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section. He has also been named a “Super Lawyer” in Employment and Labor by Thomson Reuters (2012-2014) and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America under Arbitration and Labor Law – Management (2015). Mr. Schooler received his B.A., with departmental honors, from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, where he was selected for membership for the National Order of Barristers.
