Matt Dow Elected to Greater Austin Economic Development Corporation Board

Jackson Walker partner Matt Dow has been elected to the Greater Austin Economic Development Corporation Board to serve as General Counsel for a three-year term.

The Board is the governing body for the Opportunity Austin initiative, which is a five-year, five-county economic development initiative aimed at fostering job-creating investment in Central Texas. Current initiatives focus on boosting economic diversification to proactively strengthen the economy, deepening the talent pool through development and attraction, and keeping the Greater Austin region attractive to entrepreneurs, business leaders and site selectors through expanded advocacy on issues such as a comprehensive regional transportation system and regional collaboration.

MattΒ is the Managing Partner of Jackson Walker’s Austin office and a civil trial lawyer with a wide range of experience throughout Texas. Over his 31 years of practicing trial law, Matt has tried more than 30 cases, with more than half of those being first chair jury trials. He has extensive trial experience in federal and state courts representing companies in trade secret, non-compete, discrimination, fiduciary and shareholder litigation. His experience also includes administrative appeals protecting the interests of his clients doing business in Texas. He has also argued before several Texas appellate courts and the Texas Supreme Court. He received his B.A. from Baylor University and his J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law.
