A 1985 graduate of the UT School of Law, Ms. Arnett was a talented Labor and Employment lawyer who practiced in Jackson Walker’s Fort Worth office until her death on March 14, 1995.

The Bonnie Arnett Memorial Endowed Presidential Scholarship in Law was established by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System on March 29, 1996, for the benefit of the School of Law. Gift funds were provided by Bonnie Arnett’s parents, Mrs. Barbara M. Arnett and the late Colonel J. R. Arnett; her friends and colleagues; and Jackson Walker L.L.P. The scholarship provides financial assistance to law school students who intend to work defending victims of domestic violence. To date, 38 students have benefited from the scholarship.

A similar scholarship was established at Texas Christian University, where Ms. Arnett studied as an undergraduate. That scholarship has been awarded to 32 students studying pre–law at TCU.
