Jackson Walker partner Scott Cheskiewicz will serve as a panelist at the 2014 Texas Hedge Fund Conference on Feb. 26, 2014, in Austin, Texas.

The presentation, “Building a Better Partnership,” will address, among other manager-investor alignment issues, hidden legal and economic issues lurking in hedge fund documents of which most investors (and often most managers) are not aware. Mr. Cheskiewicz will speak alongside three fellow panelists and will answer audience member questions following the presentation.

Mr. Cheskiewicz represents institutional investors (e.g., government pension plans, university endowments and funds of funds) with respect to investments in alternative assets, including hedge funds, long-only funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds, strategic and multi-asset class funds, funds of funds, captive “funds of one” and separately managed investment advisory accounts. He also assists investors with respect to the development, modeling, drafting, and negotiation of complex, custom management fee and performance fee arrangements.

Mr. Cheskiewicz is the legal advisor to the Alignment of Interests Association, an independent, investor-only forum of over 300 institutional hedge fund investors, including pensions, endowments, foundations, insurance companies and family offices. Mr. Cheskiewicz is also a member of the American Bar Association – Business Law Section and Institutional Investor Committee and a member of the National Association of Public Pension Plan Attorneys.

Mr. Cheskiewicz received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Tulane University and his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
