Peter E. Hosey is the current Chair of the Oil, Gas & Energy Resources Law (OGERL) Section of the State Bar of Texas and Course Director for the 35th Annual “Advanced Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Course” to be held September 28-29, 2017 in Houston at the Westin Galleria Hotel. The two-day event is presented by TexasBarCLE and cosponsored by OGERL. In addition to the live presentation in Houston, video presentations of the event will be held in October in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Midland, Texas. The course provides the opportunity to earn 13.75 hours in MCLE Credit, including 2.5 hours of Ethics. Pete is also Course Director for “Oil, Gas and Energy Resources 101” which precedes the Advanced Course on September 27th and offers the opportunity to earn 4.5 hours in MCLE Credit.
John Robert Hays, Jr., Jackson Walker partner and Adjunct Professor of Energy Law and Policy for the University of Texas School of Law, will be presenting a “Regulatory Update” on Thursday, September 28th at 9:45 a.m. Michael J. Nasi, a partner with Jackson Walker’s Environmental and Legislative Affairs Practice Group, will be presenting the “New Sheriff in Town – Regulatory Forecast” at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 29th.

About the Team
Peter E. Hosey is a partner in Jackson Walker’s San Antonio office where he represents clients in the preparation and negotiation of all oil and gas related agreements, including surface use agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and pipeline construction and operating agreements. He has over 35 years’ experience in title examination and the preparation of title opinions and other title related documents. Peter is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law with the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, belongs to the Joint Editorial Board for the Texas Title Examination Standard published in the Texas Property Code, and is the 2017-2018 Chair for the Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.
John Robert Hays, Jr. joined Jackson Walker’s Austin office as a partner in April 2017. John has a unique background in government, academia, and the private practice of law. He is admitted to practice before all Texas state courts and before federal courts of the Western and Southern Districts of Texas. Prior to his private practice, John served as an Examiner with the Railroad Commission of Texas. He is currently an Adjunct Professor of Energy Law and Policy for the University of Texas School of Law and is a noted lecturer and author on energy law.
Michael J. Nasi is a partner in Jackson Walker’s Austin office where he practices environmental and energy law. He offers compliance counseling, permitting, and enforcement defense work for both federal and related state programs and counsels parties in ongoing EPA regulatory proceedings. Mike is regularly involved in multi-state outreach efforts and is published in several trade, law, and business journals on environmental law and energy policy topics. He is a past Chairman of the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Section of the State Bar of Texas and has taught in energy courses at both Rice University and University of Texas Law School of Law.
