The University of Virginia (UVA) School of Law has announced Daniel Richardson as the recipient of the Jackson Walker LLP Award for 2016-2017. Since 1989, Jackson Walker has presented the award to the UVA law student with the highest grade point average in his or her class after four semesters.

In sponsoring this annual award, the firm seeks to promote excellence in the legal profession. Over the past 28 years, the award has been presented to students from a diversity of backgrounds and with interests in many different areas of law. Six of the last ten award recipients have gone on to clerk for United States Supreme Court Justices.

β€œThese students display a deep commitment to their studies and typically become distinguished and influential members of the profession,” said Jackson Walker partner and UVA law school alumnus Bob Latham. β€œOur firm is proud to reward them for their hard work.”

Each award recipient receives a cash prize and has his or her name engraved on a plaque in Hunton & Williams Hall at the university. For a full list of award recipients, read this article by the UVA School of Law.
