Biography

Amy Osberg Roberts is an advocate and counselor who has represented clients in civil litigation, arbitration, and as outside general counsel for nearly two decades. Her experience includes complex commercial litigation, business dispute litigation, intellectual property litigation, probate, trust, and fiduciary litigation, oil and gas litigation, and arbitrations before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Amy also has experience handling bankruptcy adversary proceedings, antitrust matters, and business disputes pertaining to real estate development. Amy’s litigation experience includes managing and implementing discovery guidelines and protocols for her clients, which include, large financial institutions. She has expertise in privacy compliance, data security, and protection of personal identifiable information. Amy regularly acts as a trusted advisor to her clients providing guidance on contract interpretation, avoidance and handling of business disputes, as well as working through matters pertaining to government oversight, including FDA and USDA issues.

Amy’s practice at Jackson Walker is characterized by her client-centric approach to representation, which emphasizes collaboration, results, and dispute resolutions that make sense for each individual client’s business. Amy accomplishes this by being personally involved in every aspect of her clients’ cases, from selecting a legal team, to overseeing strategy, to managing legal costs. Amy’s committed level of involvement and attention to detail allow her clients to receive the highest level of professionalism and value in every matter she handles.

Amy has extensive experience representing retail brokerage firms in arbitration proceedings before FINRA. That experience includes numerous raiding cases throughout the United States involving broker dealer vs. broker dealer disputes alleging unfair competition, trade secret misappropriation, and breach of fiduciary duty claims stemming from hiring practice disputes. Other notable FINRA cases, where she represented financial institutions, include multiple employment disputes with current, and former, employees, as well as customer cases.

Amy has represented multiple clients in patent, trademark, copyright, and other intellectual property disputes throughout the state of Texas. Often acting as local counsel in both the Northern and Eastern District of Texas where she has established knowledge and experience with the local courts and particular court practices unique to those jurisdictions.

Amy also has an established oil and gas practice. She has represented clients for many years in oil and gas litigation including surface location, ownership rights, drilling negligence, and oil and gas contract disputes.

Amy is an experienced trust and estate disputes lawyer. She has represented clients in numerous will contests, trust disputes, guardianship proceedings, and fiduciary litigation in Texas probate courts.

Amy has represented clients in extensive business disputes involving food storage, handling, packaging, and transportation. This experience includes advising clients in matters related to FDA and USDA issues.

Amy has handled product liability disputes dealing with multiple plaintiffs in various jurisdictions throughout the United States. Her product liability experience includes representing the manufacturer of nasal spray alleged to cause anosmia.
