Biography
Baker Howry is an attorney in the Trial & Appellate Litigation practice of Jackson Walker’s Houston office. She focuses her practice on providing comprehensive legal services to a broad spectrum of clients, from large healthcare providers to small family-owned businesses.
Baker has experience in a wide range of civil litigation and investigations, including healthcare and securities fraud, breach of contract, first amendment, and other complex commercial litigation matters. Baker has experience in all stages of litigation, including internal investigation reviews, discovery, fact and expert witness depositions, and drafting various state and federal court motions. In addition to her litigation practice, Baker has extensive transactional, regulatory, and compliance experience. She has counseled clients on various regulatory and compliance matters including Medicare reimbursement, HIPAA, insurance, telemedicine, veterinary practices, and government contracting and procurement matters.
In 2020 and 2021, Baker served as a summer associate at the firm, preparing memoranda involving CERCLA lessee liability and real estate foreclosure and working on internal contract documents regarding nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Prior to Jackson Walker, Baker worked in the Government Affairs office of the American Dental Association as the Lead Project Assistant for the Regulatory and Congressional Affairs team and as the ADPAC Senior Project Assistant. She also worked in the Washington, D.C. offices of Congressmen Lloyd Doggett (Texas) and Ben Ray Lujan and served as an intern for the Government Relations team of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
