Biography
Brad Lowry is the head of Jackson Walker’s real estate practice group. He embraces the firm’s tradition of teamwork and is well-regarded as a transaction facilitator and for his ability to organize and lead attorneys, paralegals, and others to serve clients’ needs in the most effective and efficient manner.
Holding a Master of Business Administration degree in addition to a law degree, Brad is known for his unique ability to balance legal insight with practical business judgment in ways that are critical to his clients’ business objectives.
He is Board Certified in Commercial Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, placing him among a select few Texas attorneys who have earned that distinction. Having practiced for more than 30 years, Brad brings a wealth of real estate transactional experience to his clients’ needs. He has handled a wide variety of complex commercial real estate transactions for a diverse range of clients ranging from individual land owners and investors to public companies in various capacities, including developers, owners, investors, buyers, sellers, lenders, borrowers, landlords, tenants, and asset managers.
Practice Experience
Brad’s practice focuses on real estate acquisition, disposition, development, leasing, investment, finance and management, including portfolio transactions.
A few highlights of Brad’s distinguished career that demonstrate his versatility and broad array of experience include having represented principals in the following transactions: purchase and conversion to condominium of major downtown hotel/retail project; ground-up development of high-rise assisted living and mixed use project; half million square foot airport ground lease; major mixed use high rise condominium project; acquisition, financing and development of 4,000+ acre residential and mixed-use project; acquisition of multi-state hotel portfolio; financing of 65,000 acre ranch; development and ground lease of recreational facility for large public university; major corporate headquarters office lease; and sale of Colorado ski resort.
In addition to real estate transactions, Brad also represents his clients’ varied interests by working closely with other Jackson Walker attorneys in handling such matters as entity selection and formation, joint ventures, asset and stock sales, mergers and acquisitions, estate planning, intellectual property rights, dispute resolution, franchise agreements, mineral rights, water rights, and land use and entitlement.
Community Involvement
Brad has always been active in his community, having served in a variety of different ways, including as an elected member of the Argyle Independent School District Board of Trustees, as Chairman of the Argyle Comprehensive Plan Committee, as President of the Argyle Economic Development Corporation, and as a board member of various organizations including ULI Dallas-Fort Worth, Downtown Dallas, Inc., and the Coppell YMCA. He is also a member of the Dallas Bar Association’s Real Property Section, the Dallas Real Estate Council, and the Urban Land Institute, and is a former editor for the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Reporter of the State Bar of Texas.
