Biography
Lamar H. Dowling is an attorney in the Real Estate practice of Jackson Walker’s Dallas office with extensive experience handling the negotiation and structuring of a range of sophisticated real estate transactions, including acquisitions, leasings, and capital markets matters. With a background steeped in complex business transactions, including mergers & acquisitions, private equity investments, joint ventures, and corporate governance, Lamar is able to guide an array of clients, including investors, owners, and developers, through real estate matters with a corporate mindset.
Lamar regularly represents and acts as counsel for institutional and entrepreneurial companies, including REITs, opportunity funds, and developers that own, operate, finance, lease, develop, and manage all types of commercial properties, with an emphasis on hotels, resorts, and mixed-use developments.
Lamar’s practice also includes senior and mezzanine financing services, complex workout and debt restructuring, management agreements, franchise agreements, buying, selling, developing, and ground leasing of all types of commercial real estate products. Lamar has been called upon to assist investors with recapitalization of distressed borrowers and purchasers of troubled assets by leveraging his experience counseling and representing clients in structuring, negotiating, documenting, and closing public and private mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, and internal restructurings.
