Patricia Sherman Bruce is an attorney in the real estate practice of Jackson Walker’s Austin office, with decades of experience representing lenders, borrowers, and developers in commercial real estate transactions and renewable wind and solar projects.
Patricia’s real estate practice concentrates on working with clients on real estate-related matters affecting the surface estate, the leasehold estates, and the easement estates for wind projects and solar projects. She regularly assists with title, survey, and due diligence review; title insurance coverage, rules, and procedures; and property development, with particular experience in contract drafting and negotiations and financing review.
Patricia helps developers, financial institutions, and tax equity investors navigate development projects, including wind and solar projects, from beginning to end by preparing and negotiating loan documents, performing due diligence, drafting leases and easements for development of land, working with energy companies to amend leases and easements, obtaining consents to encroach, and entering into agreements related to driveways and streets crossing gas pipelines.
Prior to joining Jackson Walker, Patricia worked at a national law firm where her practice focused on the representation of clients in real estate and project development matters. She has served as senior vice president at a regional title company, and in-house counsel to a regional land development firm.
