Biography
Richard Hughes is of counsel in Jackson Walker’s Environmental and Legislative groups. Richard has a national practice with extensive experience in all facets of Superfund matters including requests for information, consent decrees and consent orders, enforcement actions, allocation, contribution and cost recovery. He has managed and represented clients in numerous CERCLA negotiations and lawsuits in various jurisdictions around the country. He has also provided legal advice regarding various legacy pipeline and marketing operations to several of the nation’s largest companies in the energy industry.
Prior to joining Jackson Walker, Richard served the Chevron Corporation for more than 30 years in many capacities, most recently as Senior Counsel in the Environmental and Safety Law Group. His previous assignments included serving as a Government Affairs Representative in Washington D.C. and as a Supervisor and Manager in Chevron’s Land Department in California and in the Rocky Mountain Region.
