Biography
Victoria Argeroplos is an associate in Jackson Walker’s Houston office with a practice focused on bankruptcy, restructuring, and the resolution of related disputes, and business litigation. Victoria has experience guiding secured and unsecured creditors through bankruptcy proceedings, as well as litigating against borrowers, guarantors, and commercial tenants in federal and state courts. Victoria has also represented a variety of business entities in resolution of commercial litigation outside of a bankruptcy context.
Victoria’s litigation experience includes serving as second-chair in a trial of an adversary proceeding, giving opening statements, cross-examining witnesses, and arguing hearings on discovery matters. She is well-versed in taking Rule 2004 Examinations and depositions, and regularly drafts and argues motions for summary judgment and motions to dismiss under Rule 12. Victoria has represented a range of clients, including freight forwarders, contractors, commercial landlords, real estate investment trusts, loan servicers, homeowners, business partners, and financial institutions, in various commercial contract disputes.
Prior to joining Jackson Walker, Victoria served as a judicial intern to the Hon. John Schmude of the Harris County 247th Family District Court. Victoria also completed the University of Houston Mediation Clinic, where she gained dispute resolution experience observing and conducting eleven volunteer mediations through the Harris County Dispute Resolution Center. Victoria was previously an associate at a Houston-based law firm where she developed her practice in business litigation, real estate matters, and bankruptcy.
Victoria has bachelors’ degrees in Mathematics and Philosophy. Before attending law school, Victoria taught Algebra I and II in Spring Branch ISD.

- Represented a retailer in obtaining approval of a prepackaged reorganization plan within 24 hours of filing its Chapter 11 cases, setting a national record for the fastest-ever prepackaged case from filing to emergence. As a result of the restructuring, the retailer eliminated $450 million of debt, received $225 million of new capital for growth initiatives, and was able to maintain all 291 of its store locations across 16 states.
- Represents a manufacturer in its chapter 11 case to address products liability claims and an FDA recall arising from distribution of faulty hand sanitizer and related products and to wind up the business.
- Argued and prevailed on a motion for summary judgment in favor of lender in a deficiency suit where borrower counterclaimed for fraud and promissory estoppel.
- Second-chaired a trial involving recovery of a lender’s collateral from a transferee of a bankruptcy debtor.
- Argued and won a motion for summary judgment on the key issue in a case seeking recovery of lender’s collateral from a transferee of a bankruptcy debtor, contributing to a favorable settlement in lieu of trial.
- Won a motion to dismiss under Fed. R. Civ. P. 12(b)(2), (3), and (6) in favor of a defendant depositary bank in an adversary proceeding brought by a chapter 13 debtor.
- Won a motion to dismiss under Fed. R. Civ. P. 12(b)(6) in favor of a subcontractor in a construction defect case.
- Argued and won a motion to dismiss in state court on behalf of managing partners in an action by minority partners to appoint a receiver over a limited partnership.
- Negotiated a favorable settlement of an insurance claim on behalf of the policyholder.
