Bob Latham Speaks at Sports and Entertainment Law Symposium

Jackson Walker partner Bob Latham spoke at the University of Virginia’s Sports and Entertainment Law Symposium on February 28, 2014, in Charlottesville, Va.

The symposium discussed how lawyers can most effectively meet the needs of their sports and Entertainment clients. Mr. Latham delivered two presentations titled “Choosing a Venue: Alternative Dispute Resolution in Professional Sports” and “Protecting Financial Interests: Adding Value Through Legal Services.” Other presenters at the Symposium included Donald Dell, Group President of Lagardere Unlimited, and DeMaurice Smith, Executive Director of the NFL Players Association.

Mr. Latham has tried significant cases in numerous jurisdictions involving a broad range of subject matter. He has developed nationally recognized expertise in the areas of media law and intellectual property litigation and chairs both practice areas at Jackson Walker. He has been named in Best Lawyers in America in six different disciplines: First Amendment Law, Litigation (Commercial, First Amendment, Intellectual Property & Patent), and Sports Law. Mr. Latham received his A.B. from Stanford University and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. He is currently the Chairman of the International Rugby Board Regulations Committee.
