Bob Latham Debates Use of Instant Replay in Sports on Dale Hansen Show

Jackson Walker partner Bob Latham appeared on WFAA Channel 8 as a guest on Dale Hansen’s Sunday night show on January 26, 2014, in Dallas.

The pair debated the use of instant replay within the world of sports in the first episode of a segment titled “#Hansen Debate.” Viewers were encouraged to tweet their opinions on the subject during the program.

Mr. Latham is the author of Winners & Losers: Rants, Riffs & Reflections on the World of Sports. The book features anecdotal accounts of his travels to sports meccas and legendary events around the world, as well as his insights into sports gleaned from the various positions in sports he has held.

Mr. Latham has tried significant cases in numerous jurisdictions involving a broad range of subject matter. He has developed nationally recognized experience in the areas of media law and intellectual property litigation and chairs both practice areas at Jackson Walker. His media law practice has involved the representation of international, national, and local media clients in matters involving the defense of libel, invasion of privacy, and newsgathering tort claims, at both the trial court and appellate court level, as well as counseling clients in matters of access, prior restraint, newsgathering, right of publicity, and prepublication review. Mr. Latham received his A.B. from Stanford University and his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. He is currently the Chairman of the International Rugby Board Regulations Committee.
