Chris Mugica and Bruce Ruzinsky Speak at Texas Minority Counsel Program

Jackson Walker partners Christopher R. Mugica and Bruce J. Ruzinsky spoke at the Texas Minority Counsel Program (TMCP) on September 3-5, 2014, in Austin.

Chris Mugica was the co-chair of the conference and presented opening and closing remarks. Bruce Ruzinsky served on a panel discussing the status of diverse lawyers in large law firms.

The TMCP is a client development, networking, and CLE event for diverse attorneys in Texas. The TMCP was created in 1993 by the State Bar of Texas with the mission of increasing opportunities for minority and women attorneys who provide legal services to corporate and government clients, and to expose those organizations to the talent found in the minority and woman lawyer community.

Christopher R. Mugica has a broad commercial litigation practice that ranges from fiduciary litigation to first-party insurance defense to consumer and employment litigation. Mr. Mugica has represented clients in a variety of complex commercial matters, including class action litigation, fraud and breach of fiduciary litigation. He also has extensive experience in real estate litigation representing developers, lenders, and property owners associations. Mr. Mugica received his B.A. from the University of Texas and his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School.

In his legal practice, Bruce J. Ruzinsky focuses primarily on representing financial institutions, corporations, and other business entities in workout/restructure efforts, chapter bankruptcy proceedings, and litigation. He has approximately 30 years of experience in representing creditors, creditors’ committees, trustees, debtors, landlords, and/or asset purchasers in various industries and business environments, including energy, real estate, shipping, manufacturing, transportation, retail, entertainment, wholesale produce, heath care, and personal services. Mr. Ruzinsky received his B.A., magna cum laude, from Duke University and his J.D., from Duke University School of Law.
