Jack Skaggs Speaks at Texas Association for Home Care & Hospice Conference

The presentation, titled “Risky Business in Legal Matters – How to Know When to Call Your Lawyer,” addressed how a home health or hospice agency can tell the difference between an issue requiring an attorney and something that can be solved in-house. The session also addressed the attorney/client privilege, as well as other relevant privileges from discovery, and how to preserve them.

Jack practices in the area of general commercial litigation, with an emphasis on healthcare law, insurance defense, real estate litigation, administrative law, and creditors’ rights. He represents many healthcare providers in administrative appeals and related litigation. Specifically, he assists many long-term care, assisted living, and home health providers on appeals from enforcement actions imposed by the Department of Aging and Disability Services and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
