‘Dallas Business Journal’ Honors Jackson Walker Clients for Best Real Estate Deals

May 13, 2014 | Spotlight

Jackson Walker played a key role in several transactions that the Dallas Business Journal recently recognized in its “Best Real Estate Deals of the Year” awards. The annual awards spotlight projects that have made a significant impact on the Dallas–Fort Worth landscape. Winners were honored at an awards ceremony and featured in a special section in the May 2 edition of the Dallas Business Journal.

Jackson Walker client West Dallas Investments LP was named the best Rehab/Reuse Deal winner for its Trinity Groves mixed–use project in West Dallas. Plans for the innovative project include a restaurant incubator, along with multifamily units, office spaces, and hotels. Jackson Walker partners Susan Mead, Myron Dornic, and Suzan Kedron represented West Dallas Investments.

Jackson Walker was also a key player in the Fairfield West End Residences at 555 Ross project, which was named the winner in the Urban Multifamily Deal category. The project represents the first new development in five years for Dallas’ West End district and is expected to attract about 450 new residents to downtown Dallas. Jackson Walker attorneys Debbie Robinowitz and Kelly Hodge represented Capital One Bank in the project. Jackson Walker’s Land Use and Municipal Law practice also represented Fairfield Residential company in relation to economic incentives for the deal.

Another Jackson Walker client, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Society, was a finalist in both the Green Deal and Community Impact Deal categories for its Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden project, which transformed 11 acres of overgrown, partially used land at the Arboretum into an educational “museum without walls.” Jackson Walker attorneys Jim Ryan, Colter Harris, and Randy Racine represented the Arboretum in the project.

Members of Jackson Walker’s Land Use and Municipal Law practice also worked on the zoning and economic incentives for CityLine, the winner of the Best Mixed-Use Development Deal.
