Jackson Walker celebrates the career and retirement of Governmental Affairs Consultant Kathy N. Hutto, who joined the Firm in 1988 and helped clients build relationships with people who get things done in Texas.

“I am grateful for the opportunities I’ve had at Jackson Walker and the relationships I’ve enjoyed with my colleagues, clients, and competitors,” Kathy said. “This firm is unique in its understanding of the value of a lobby practice to complement the legal services provided to our clients.”

Through the years, Kathy learned about a vast array of businesses as she effectively represented her clients before Texas state agencies and at the State Capitol. Kathy influenced state public policy on a variety of subject matters, including healthcare, appropriations, equity in taxation, education, and tort reform.

“Kathy Hutto’s career as a lobbyist was marked by three things: intelligence, professionalism, and grace,” Austin Managing Partner James Matthew Dow said. “Kathy helped pave the way for women to be accepted as go-to lobbyists. She will be missed.”

Kathy looks forward to spending more time with her best friend and husband of 33 years, Allen Beinke. Kathy’s bucket list includes traveling, snow skiing, paddle boarding, and having time to read a book from start to finish in one day.
