Brad has more than 25 years of experience handling a wide variety of complex commercial real estate and real estate–related transactions for a diverse range of clients, including developers, owners, lenders, landlords, tenants, REITS, equity investors and asset managers. Prior to joining Haynie Rake, he practiced at Haynes and Boone, LLP for more than 20 years. A few recent highlights of Brad’s distinguished career include having represented a mixed–use developer in the acquisition of more than 5,000 acres of suburban land; a resort community developer in a 1,200 acre golf course community development; and a retail developer in a $100 million retail development; to name just a few. Brad also has extensive experience in the hospitality industry, including several large transactions involving multi–state hotel portfolios.

Brad received his B.B.A. from Texas A&M Commerce, his M.B.A. from Texas Christian University, and his J.D. from Baylor University School of Law. He is Board Certified in Commercial Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been named an eight–time Texas Super Lawyer (2005-10, 2013-14) by Thomson Reuters.

Brad joins a dynamic Real Estate practice group at Jackson Walker, which has earned a reputation as a go–to firm for Texas real estate. While many firms scaled back their real estate practices during lean years, Jackson Walker has kept its core team together for over three decades and is able to draw upon that experience to provide unparalleled insight to clients. Within the past year, the firm has further expanded its team to serve the needs of clients in an active Texas market. In addition to Brad, Jackson Walker recently welcomed Steve Jenkins, a 40–year commercial real estate veteran whose clients include some of the largest and most sophisticated players in the industry. The firm has also added associates Ashley Martzen, Amit Patel, and Frank Morphis to its Real Estate team.

Firmwide, a number of high–profile attorneys have made the move to Jackson Walker in the last year, including Darrell Taylor (Corporate & Securities, Houston), John Ransom (Tax/Corporate & Securities, Houston), Brandon Jones (Tax, Fort Worth), Wes Strickland (Environmental & Legislative, Austin), Dan Nossa (Derivatives, Houston), and Drew Darby (Real Estate/Energy, Austin/San Angelo).
