Jackson Walker has expanded its Intellectual Property Litigation practice capabilities with the addition of six partners. Danny Williams, Brian Buss, Chris Cravey, Drew Kim, Leisa Peschel, and David Wooten bring considerable experience in intellectual property litigation, including patent litigation, copyright litigation, and trade secret litigation.

“This is an elite group with extensive experience that will greatly complement our already robust litigation practice,” stated Retta Miller, head of Jackson Walker’s litigation practice.

The team’s experience enables them to counsel clients during both settlement and trial. Their skillset ranges from technical litigation, including product liability and pharmaceutical litigation, to construction litigation, contract disputes, and trade secret litigation. They also advise on patent prosecution and counseling matters.

Danny Williams, a leading IP trial lawyer in the state of Texas, brings over thirty years of experience in all aspects of patent litigation.

Further strengthening the team, both Leisa Peschel and David Wooten hold doctorates in Biomedical Sciences.

“Not only are Danny and the team extremely well known for cases involving highly complex technology, they have also developed an excellent reputation amongst their clients and peers with respect to their patent prosecution services and counseling,” said Raman Dewan, head of the Firm’s intellectual property practice.

Houston managing partner Kurt Nondorf added, “We are thrilled that this group has chosen to join Jackson Walker. This uniquely talented team will add significantly to our deep bench in the Houston market. It is an exciting opportunity for Jackson Walker and our clients.”

“This impressive group brings a strong sense of collegiality that will align well within Jackson Walker’s culture and our clients’ growing needs,” said Managing Partner Wade Cooper. “We remain committed to expanding our litigation practice.”

In 2016, Jackson Walker added considerable strength to its IP litigation practice and IP prosecution practice in its Houston office with the additions of Wasif Qureshi and Brit Nelson.

The Firm’s Texarkana office is led by the Honorable David Folsom, former Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, who presided over hundreds of patent infringement cases, conducted over 250 trials, and held approximately 75 claim construction hearings. Judge Folsom supports Jackson Walker’s extensive presence in intellectual property issues.

With a deep reach across industries, Jackson Walker has enforced and defended numerous intellectual property matters in federal and state courts across Texas and throughout the U.S. The Firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation practice serves clients in complex cases involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade dress, trade secrets, arbitrations and alternative dispute forums.

The joining attorneys come from Williams Morgan, P.C. and will all practice in Jackson Walker’s Houston office.
