Jackson Walker Receives Three Awards at The M&A Advisor’s Distressed Investing Summit

Jackson Walker was part of The M&A Advisor’s 2017 Investment Summit where partner Patty Tomasco served as a panel moderator and the firm received three awards. The 11th Annual Turnaround Awards honor the top deals, firms, and professionals in a variety of categories related to distressed investing, reorganization and turnarounds.

  • Energy Deal of the Year (Over $1B) for Patty Tomasco and Matt Cavenaugh’s work on the restructuring of Midstates Petroleum Company,
  • Distressed M&A Deal of the Year (Over $1B) for Amy Baird’s work on the Chapter 11 restructuring and asset sale of Walter Energy, and
  • Divestiture Deal of the Year (Over $50MM to $100MM) for the carve-out of Total Plastics from A.M. Castle by Prophet Equity.

The M&A Advisor is a publication that covers insight and intelligence on M&A activity. The 2017 Distressed Investing Summit was an exclusive “Think Tank Forum” symposium that was attended by roughly 200 professionals.

Patty Tomasco moderated a panel presentation titled, “Running Out of Steam: Energy Sector in Distress” covering the energy and other commodity pricing, contested valuation and fulcrum security issues in a commodity environment.
