Jackson Walker Represents MEAG in Purchase of U.S. Water Utility

Jackson Walker successfully represented MEAG, a privately owned investment manager, in its acquisition of a 25 percent indirect managed share in SouthWest Water Company, a water utility company that owns and operates water and wastewater infrastructure in Alabama, California, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, and Texas. The transaction was closed on June 14, 2018.

SouthWest Water Company offers a range of operations, maintenance and management services, including water production, treatment and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, customer service, and utility infrastructure construction management.

MEAG manages the assets of Munich Re and ERGO and has representations in Europe, Asia, and North America. MEAG is present in and manages all important asset classes such as interest-bearing securities, equities, and real estate, as well as investments in renewable energy and infrastructure. As of March 2018, the company manages assets worth over €250 billion.
