Jackson Walker successfully represented The Dallas Morning News and WFAA-TV in obtaining a favorable opinion from the Court of Appeals to reverse closure of a courtroom associated with a juvenile capital murder case. The opinion, delivered by Fort Worth Second Court of Appeals Justice Sue Walker, determined that State District Judge Jean Boyd had barred reporters from the courtroom “without showing a good cause.”

“There’s a dearth on whether a juvenile court may or may not close a court proceeding of a minor over 14 years of age,” Mr. Watler told the publication. “This case likely will become a leading decision under that statute.
