Jackson Walker won a complete defense victory for its client in a two-week jury trial before Judge Rodney Satterwhite in the 441st District Court of Midland County.

The firm represented Team Oil Tools in a lawsuit brought by Peak Completion Technologies and Summit Downhole Dynamics involving, among other things, a claim of misappropriation of trade secrets. Team Oil Tools counterclaimed for misappropriation of trade secrets by Peak. Plaintiffs sought in excess of $20 million in actual damages, punitive damages, and a permanent injunction.

On April 17, 2014, the jury returned a unanimous verdict in favor of Jackson Walker’s client on Plaintiffs’ claim for misappropriation of trade secrets. The jury found no liability or damages on all other claims.

Team Oil Tools was represented by Jackson Walker attorneys John K. Edwards and Jennifer Bryant, with assistance from Kathy Adair, Kimberly Aaron, and Miguel Villalpando. The successful outcome demonstrates the strength of Jackson Walker’s Litigation practice group, which is one of the largest in the Southwest and was named the 2013 “Litigation Department of the Year” by Texas Lawyer magazine.
