Jay Rutherford Joins the Board of Directors of the Texas Institute for Education Reform

Jackson Walker partner Jay Rutherford has joined the Board of Directors of the Texas Institute for Education Reform (TIER).

TIER, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, is committed to improving public education for Texas students. Through its leaders and advisors, TIER has access to the nation’s leading education policy experience, the best minds in the country, and will use these resources to bring to bear on the Texas reform effort the best available research-based strategies, benchmarked practices, and policy innovations.

Jay has over 25 years of experience representing management clients in all types of employment litigation and serving as a trusted advisor to clients in dealing with employee issues. His proactive approach often enables clients to anticipate and resolve employment issues before they end up in court; however, when litigation is unavoidable, Jay is a skilled and zealous advocate for his clients with a track record for achieving results. He received his B.S. in agricultural economics, magna cum laude, from Texas Tech University and his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law.
