Jeffrey S. Hamilton Speaks on Multiple Party Accounts

Jackson Walker senior counsel Jeffrey S. Hamilton spoke at the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of Dallas/Fort Worth Breakfast Meeting on November 4, 2014, in Irving, Texas. Mr. Hamilton presented a talk titled “Legal Pitfalls of Account Titling and How to Avoid Them,” which discussed key issues related to multiple party accounts.

The FPA is the largest membership organization for Certified Financial Planners in the U.S. and also includes members who support the financial planning process.

Jeffrey S. Hamilton counsels clients on matters involving wealth planning and preservation, including trusts, estates, wills, income tax relating to trusts and estates, estate, gift and generation-skipping tax, and charitable organizations. This includes developing and implementing innovative estate planning techniques to transfer wealth from an older generation to a younger generation. These techniques often involve the creation of new entities or changes in existing entities, as well as careful consideration of federal and state income, estate and gift tax laws. Mr. Hamilton’s practice also includes advising fiduciaries and beneficiaries in the administration of trusts and estates. He received his B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin. He received his J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law and his LL.M in Taxation from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.
