The Q&A discussed the Supreme Court’s decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, which recognized same-sex marriages, and how that decision might affect employers.

Obergefell means that same sex-marriage restrictions in the Texas Constitution and statues are no longer enforceable,” Jim said, adding that the decision did not change any federal or local employment discrimination laws.

Jim  advises clients on legal issues involving employee benefit plans. He works closely with the ever-changing Internal Revenue Code and ERISA.
